Aqualand Maspalomas | Aquatic Wonderland in Gran Canaria

Explore Aqualand Maspalomas, a fantastic water park in Gran Canaria, featuring exhilarating water slides, pools, and attractions for a fun-filled day under the sun. Discover ticket information, park highlights, and more.

Quick overview

  • One main ticket: The standard 1-day ticket covers the full park and its 40+ attractions and zones.
  • What's included: Full-day access to all 40+ slides, themed zones, Polynesia Park, Children's Paradise, and the new Skull Bay pirate world. Sea lion experience costs extra.
  • Best strategy: Start with the headline thrill slides early, then move to family zones and shaded areas after lunch.
  • Hours matter: The park opens daily at 10am; it closes at 5pm most of the year and 6pm in July and August. Water attractions shut 30 minutes before closing.
  • Getting there: If you’re not driving, Global Bus lines 45 and 70 are the useful public transport routes to know.
  • Good to know: Height categories split the experience: adults (1.40m+), children (1.10–1.40m), toddlers (0.90–1.10m). Under 0.90m gets in free. Some rides have their own minimums — check at the ride entrance

Arriving at the park

Pull up to the main gate on Carretera Palmitos Park, Km 3, show your QR code (downloaded before you left, not at the gate) and walk straight through. Bag checks are fast. Lockers are available just past the entrance; grab one early before the good spots go. The sun is already working by 10am.

The slides

Forty-plus rides across every thrill level means there is genuinely something for everyone in the same party. The Anaconda is the park's signature — a fast, steep, unforgiving slide that you will queue for twice. Hurakan and Tornado handle the adrenaline crowd at the other end of the park. If you go straight for these three at opening, you'll beat the 45-minute midday queues by a full half hour.

Skull Bay

A fully themed pirate water world built into the park's southern end. Skull Bay has its own atmosphere — the theming is detailed enough that it genuinely feels like a different park within the park. Hit it mid-morning before the crowds drift over. This is the best new thing Aqualand has built in years.

Children's Paradise & Kidzworld

A dedicated zone kept separate from the main ride areas, with scaled-down slides, splash pads, and shallow pools. It runs calm, it runs shaded, and the pace is entirely different from the rest of the park. Parents with toddlers: this is your anchor point. Go here first, set up your base, then trade off adult slides in shifts

The sea lion experience

One of the park's best-kept secrets, an optional, add-on encounter with the park's resident sea lions. Availability isn't guaranteed, so ask at the gate or at the guest services kiosk when you arrive. It costs extra, it books up, and it is absolutely worth asking about on arrival.

Winding down

The park closes at 5pm (September to June) or 6pm (July to August), with rides closing 30 minutes before. Last entry is earlier than you'd think, 3:30pm in the cooler months, 4:30pm in summer. Don't cut it fine. Polynesia Park and the gardens are the right place to end the day: a quiet, shaded, tropical zone that makes the walk back to the gate feel earned.

Things to Know Before Booking Aqualand Maspalomas Tickets

  • Download your ticket before you leave the hotel: Aqualand requires a mobile or printed ticket before you arrive, if you show up without one and have to use the gate printer, you pay the offline walk-up price. Download the PDF the night before, screenshot the QR code, and you're done.
  • Best way to beat the crowd: The only way to beat the queues on the big slides is to be at the gate at 10am and go straight to Hurakan, Anaconda, and Tornado before the crowds hit their stride around midday. After lunch, the big slides regularly stack to 30–45 minute waits. Plan accordingly.
  • Your ticket is locked to the date you pick: Once you've booked, the date is fixed. There are no refunds once you're inside the park, and no refunds if weather or ride maintenance causes closures during your visit. Pick a date you're confident about and check the weather forecast the night before!
  • Height categories affect what each member of your group can ride: Adult (11+ or taller than 1.40m), Child (5–10 or 1.10–1.40m), Toddler (3–4 or 0.90–1.10m), Senior (65+), and free for under-2s or under 0.90m. Individual rides also have their own height minimums, these are posted at each ride entrance. Some of the bigger thrill slides require 1.20m. Worth checking with younger kids before they get attached to a particular slide.
  • Parking is not included: If you’re driving, remember to factor in the extra parking charge before you book. Parking at Aqualand Maspalomas costs €5 per day, so it’s a small add-on, but still one of those things that can catch you off guard if you’re only thinking about the ticket price.

Top zones at Aqualand Maspalomas

Skull Bay

Theme: A full pirate water world, themed to the teeth!

  • Themed slides and water features built around pirate scenography
  • The most visually distinct zone in the park, properly designed, not just a paint job
  • Separate enough from the rest of the park to feel like its own destination.
  • Tip: Go here mid-morning before the rest of the park floods across. It's the most photogenic zone too, and the slides are excellent.

Thrill Zone

Theme: The park's headline adrenaline corridor, steep, fast, and unforgiving

  • Hurakan: near-vertical drop, the park's signature white-knuckle moment
  • Tornado: giant funnel slide with sweeping arcs before the drop
  • Anaconda: the park's most talked-about slide, fast enclosed tube with sharp bends.
  • Tip: Be here at 10:05am. These three account for 80% of the park's queues by midday. Hit them first, hit them twice, and move on happy.

Children's Paradise & Kidzworld

Theme: A scaled, gentle world built exclusively for younger guests — calm, shaded, and separated from the main slides

  • Scaled-down slides and splash pads calibrated for under-1.20m guests
  • Shallow pools with soft water features
  • Shaded seating areas for parents to actually sit down
  • Tip: This zone stays calmer longer than the rest of the park. It's also the best place to station a base — easy to leave and return to between adult slides.

Polynesia Park & Gardens

Theme: Tropical landscaping and open green space — the park's deliberate decompression zone

  • Lush tropical planting across a large open area
  • Quieter pace, away from the main slide corridors
  • Good shaded seating and relaxation zones
  • Tip: Save Polynesia Park for late afternoon. It's the best part of the park to let the day slow down before the gates close.

Water Labyrinth

Theme: A winding, choose-your-own-path water maze — low-thrill, high-replay

  • Multiple routes through an interconnected water tunnel system
  • Works for all age groups; no height restriction
  • Lower-energy alternative to the big slides — great for mixed groups
  • Tip: The labyrinth gets underestimated. It's the park's best "one more go" attraction — and the queues are almost always shorter than the headline slides.

Misol-ha & Tukakame

Theme: Multi-lane racing and high-speed enclosed tubes — competitive and fast

  • Misol-ha: side-by-side racing lanes, great for groups
  • Tukakame: high-speed enclosed tube with dark turns
  • Both deliver serious speed without the extreme height of Hurakan
  • Tip: Misol-ha is the best group slide in the park — race properly, settle the argument, and lap it a few times while the queues for Anaconda are long.

Meet the sea lions

The park's resident sea lion colony lives in its own dedicated area — and an optional interactive experience lets you get genuinely close. Availability isn't guaranteed and there's an extra cost, but it's the kind of thing a ten-year-old talks about for years. Ask at guest services when you arrive and book your slot early; it goes before midday.

Race your group on Misol-ha

Multi-lane racing slides are the most underrated attraction type at any water park, and Misol-ha at Aqualand is a proper one. Six lanes, a clean drop, and the satisfaction of watching someone you came with lose badly. Queue here when the big thrill slides back up — the wait is almost always shorter and the fun-to-minute ratio is outstanding.

Get properly lost in the Water Labyrinth

A winding, branching water maze where the right route is genuinely unclear. It's the park's low-key gem — no height restriction, no long queue, and surprisingly replayable. Works for every age group in the same party, which is rarer than it sounds.

Decompress in Polynesia Park

After a full morning on the slides, the Polynesia Park tropical garden section is where the pace finally drops. Shaded, green, calm — it's the part of Aqualand that earns its place precisely because everything else around it is so loud. Good food spots nearby. Save it for mid-afternoon.

Explore Skull Bay properly

The park's 2025 headline addition isn't just a single slide — it's a fully themed zone with multiple attractions wrapped in pirate scenography. The level of theming detail is genuinely impressive for a water park. Block out at least 45 minutes here, and go mid-morning before the rest of the park finds it.

Visiting Aqualand Maspalomas with kids?

Water parks and young kids: it's either a glorious day or an exhausting one — and the difference is almost always planning.

Here's what Aqualand actually has for families with little ones:

  • Children's Paradise & Kidzworld: A fully dedicated zone with scaled-down slides, gentle splash pads, and shallow pools. It's separated from the main ride areas, which means your 4-year-old can run around without being in the way of Tornado riders. Parents get actual seating here.
  • Free entry for the youngest: Children under 2 years old, or under 0.90m, get in free. Toddlers (3–4 or 0.90–1.10m) have their own pricing tier and their own set of attractions designed for their height.
  • Height minimums are real: The big thrill slides (Hurakan, Anaconda, Tornado) require 1.20–1.40m. Bring a tape measure if you're borderline — the staff will check and the rules are applied consistently.
  • Lockers are worth it with kids: You'll need somewhere to stash bags, sunscreen, nappies, and the inevitable jumper. Lockers are available near the entrance; grab one early.
  • Picnic areas exist: Packed lunches are allowed in the designated picnic areas. With picky eaters and park-priced food, this is genuinely useful. Plan where the picnic zone is before you go in.

The best move with young kids: anchor at Children's Paradise first, let them exhaust themselves there, then trade off on adult slides in shifts. It turns a logistical challenge into a genuinely good day.

Itinerary for a perfect Aqualand Maspalomas visit

Morning (10am – 1pm): Beat the queues, hit the big slides

Arrive at the gate at 10am sharp. The difference between a 10-minute queue and a 45-minute queue on Hurakan is literally the first 20 minutes of the day.

  • Route: Hurakan → Anaconda → Tornado → Tukakame. Hit them in this order, in this direction through the park. All four in the first 90 minutes is completely doable if you start at opening.
  • 💡 Insider tip: While others are still arriving and orienting, you'll be finishing your second lap on Anaconda. The park fills quickly after 11am.
  • After the big four, cross to Skull Bay. Mid-morning is the sweet spot before the main crowd finds it. Spend 45 minutes here exploring the full zone.
  • 💡 Insider tip: Skull Bay is the most photographed zone in the park. Bring your waterproof phone pouch for this one — just remember no smartphone cases on the actual slides, so pocket it before boarding.

Late afternoon (4:00 PM – Close): Wind down in style

The park closes at 5pm (September to June) or 6pm (July/August), with rides closing 30 minutes before. Last entry cutoff is earlier than people expect — don't try to enter after 3:30pm / 4:30pm.

  • Use the final 90 minutes in Polynesia Park — the tropical garden section of the park where the pace genuinely slows down. Grab a drink, find a lounger if you've hired one, and let the day settle.
  • 💡 Insider tip: The big slides actually have their shortest queues in the last hour before they close. If there's one you missed in the morning, now is the time.
